Betty Jewel Williams Hale, 92, lifelong resident of the Lord’s Schoolhouse Community-Morrilton peacefully began her next great adventure on Friday, June 29, 2018. Betty Jewel was born October 3, 1925 on the Hanaford Farm in the Lord’s School, the eleventh child of Elbert Williams and May Lynn Williams. Betty Jewel was educated in the Lord’s Schoolhouse through 8th grade, then Morrilton High School. Betty Jewel met her future life-mate at a dance in Hardison Hall on Petit Jean Mountain. Betty Jewel and Clyde G. Hale were married March 7, 1942. Betty Jewel was a homemaker, who loved to cook and feed everyone! She was a seamstress and artist. Her favorite past times were gardening, traveling all over the United States and reading, especially the history of Arkansas and Conway County.
Betty Jewel was the mother to three children, Patsy Hale (Jim) Edwards; Ronald D. “Ronnie” Hale; Donna Marie Ferricher-Hale.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, Brig. Gen. (Ret) Dwayne (Heather) Edwards, DVM Darryl (Carla) Edwards, David (Tiffany) Edwards, Laurel(Chuck) Hale-Lang, Leah Beth (Mark) Ferricher, and Rachel Lynn Ferricher; great grandchildren, Dylan, Drew, Madalyn, Caroline, Tanner, Breanna, Presley, Haley Kay, Kristen, Alice Marie, and Abigale; great great grandchildren, A’riyah and DeAndre.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, her husband of 67 years and her favorite daughter in law, Cheryle K. Hale.
Special thanks to Brenda Choate and Michele Williams for their loving care of Mom.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, at Harris Chapel with Bro. Mike Atkinson officiating. Burial will be at Old Salem Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:000 p.m. Thursday, July 5 at the funeral home. Honorary Pallbearers will be her family.
