Thomas Colven {Cole} McSpadden, aged 61, a life-long resident of Benton County and former Rogers business man who died at his home in that city late Thursday of the past week following an illness of six months, was a brother of the late W.B. {Brown} McSpadden who died at his home here in Bentonville on June 19th this year. Besides his wife Mr. McSpadden is survived by his twin brother, Cal McSpadden and another brother, Milt McSpadden, former Benton County residents who now live at Tulsa, Okla., and one sister, Mrs. R.R. Sikes of Gentry, Ark.

McSPADDEN, Thomas Colven - Thos. Colven McSpadden, better known as Cole McSpadden, died at his home in Rogers Thursday afternoon at the age of 61 years. He had been ill for several months. Death is said to have been caused by cancer of the throat. Funeral services were held at the Central M.E. Church there Friday afternoon, the pastor, Rev. Ben C. Few, conducting the services. The funeral was largely attended. Burial was made in the Rogers cemetery. Besides his widow, Mrs. Mattie McSpadden, he is survived by two brothers, J.C. and Milt McSpadden of Tulsa and by one sister, Mrs. Belle Sikes of near Gentry. Mr. McSpadden was born southeast of Bentonville and was the son of one of the pioneer families of this section. He was widely known throughout northwest Arkansas and was for many years associated with E.P. Knott of Bentonville who bought mules throughout this section and in southwest Missouri. His brother, Brown McSpadden of Bentonville, died a few months ago. Mr. McSpadden was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McSpadden who homesteaded the land where the State Pheasant Farm, near Oakley Chapel, is now located.
