Leslie M. Greene, 82, Siloam Springs, died July 12 at Siloam Springs Memorial Hospital. He was born Feb. 26, 1894, at New Orleans. He moved to Siloam Springs in 1936 from Joplin, Mo. He was a retired miller, an elder in the Presbyterian church and a Mason.

Greene was a past president of the Siloam Springs Chamber of Commerce, a past president of the Rotary Club, a former member of the School Board and a former member of the City Council. In 1970, he received the Pioneer Citizen award from the Jaycees.

His Masonic orders included past master of Key Lodge No. 7 in Siloam Springs, past worthy patron of the Siloam Springs Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, past grand master of the Grand Lodge of Arkansas, past illustrious grand master of the Grand Council of Arkansas and past grand commander of the Grand Commandery of Arkansas and past venerable master of the West Arkansas Scottish Rite.

Greene was a member of the Red Cross of Constantine, K.Y.C.H., Honorary 33rd Mason, Royal Order of Scotland and the Shrine of Little Rock.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Goforth Greene; three sons, Howard S. Greene, San Antonio, Tex., Leslie M. Greene, Port Mansfield, Tex., and Thomas T. Greene, El Monte, Calif.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 2 p.m. today in the Wasson Memorial Chapel at Siloam Springs with the Rev. Don Allen officiating. A Masonic graveside service was conducted at Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of Wasson Funeral Home.
