ROGERS — Evelyn Mae Pierce, 73, was born May 5, 1934, at Bement, Ill., and left this life to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Monday, April 7, 2008, in Rogers.
Evelyn lived in Rogers since 1982. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital where she worked in the business office in Rogers. Evelyn enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading, gardening, history, her cats and dogs and she was an avid football fan.
Evelyn was raised in a respected military family from Champaign, Ill. Evelyn was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend. Evelyn is missed and loved very much.
Evelyn is survived by her four children, Bruce and Katherine (Pierce) Ingle of Rogers, Bill Pierce of Des Moines, Iowa, Dan Pierce of Euless, Texas, Jim and Cindy Pierce of Johnston, Iowa; a sister, Patrica Ford of Annandale, Va.; 16 grandchildren, Christiane Burnett, Angel Paravacini, Faith Dye, Joy Norris, Christina Hopper, Autmn Davis, Cynthia Perales, Hope Ingle, Precious Ingle, Stephanie Schimp, Brandon Pierce, A.J. Schimp, Israel Ingle, Dustin Pierce, Judah Ingle, Austin Pierce and soon be 20 great-grandchildren and her very loving companion of 20 years, Terry Boatman of Rogers.
Evelyn is preceded in death by her father, Clyde Lamkin and her mother, Lola Lamkin of Champaign, Ill., three brothers, Charles Lamkin, Clyde Lamkin and Raymond Lamkin, all of Champaign, one sister-in-law, Joyce Lamkin of Champaign, two sisters, Jane Eckhart of Joplin, Mo., and Annabelle Tarpenning of Champaign, children's father, William D. Pierce of Des Moines.
She was a dedicated supporter of Decision Point Rehabilitation Facility. Memorial donations will be accepted at Decision Point Rehabilitation Facility, 602 N. Walton Blvd., Bentonville, 72712.
Memorial and visitation services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 13 at Benton County Funeral Home, 306 N. 4th St., Rogers with Bruce Ingle officiating.
