Martha Hodge Ward was married to Thomas Ward. They married in Saline County, Arkansas, January 5, 1840.
They were early settlers of northern Grant County, which was part of Saline County until 1869.
The bottom of the headstone says Erected by G. A. Graves and J.H. Ward.
G. A. Graves was Thomas and Martha's daughter, Georgia Ann, who married Benjamin F. Graves. J. H. Ward was Thomas and Martha's son John. John is buried in Bethel North Cemetery in Grant County. Georgia is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
