Thomas Ward married Martha Hodge in Saline County on 1/5/1840. They were early pioneers of Grant County, settling in the area of north Grant County that was once Saline County. The community was called Wardville or Wardsville and Thomas Ward was the postmaster. Marlow North Cemetery is located on what was his land.
The bottom of the headstone says Erected by G.A. Graves and J.H. Ward.
G.A. Graves was Thomas and Martha's daughter, Georgia Ann, who married Benjamin F. Graves. J. H. Ward was Thomas and Martha's son John. John is buried in Bethel North Cemetery in Grant County. Georgia is buried in Oaklawn Cemetery in Garvin County, Oklahoma.
