FAYETTEVILLE — Mary E. John, 97, of Fayetteville died July 14, 2000, at Fayetteville City Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1902, in Webb City, Mo., to Albert and May Maret McDaniel.
She was a retired seamstress and a member of the First Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. John, in 1984.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Charles McDaniel John and Pat of Rogers and Paul Maret John of Meridian, Miss.; one daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Gooden and Harold of Springdale; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Moore's Chapel of Fayetteville with Jack Garner and the Rev. Dewey Mott officiating. Burial will be in Dowell Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home; the family will greet friends from 7 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons: Dean Gooden, Stephen Gooden, Adam Gooden, Mike John, Donnie John and Damon Drake.
