September 14, 1884 - October 4, 1971
Mrs. Pearl Augusta Ellis, 87, of 1274 California St., died Monday afternoon in a local hospital. She was the widow of V. S. Ellis, and came to Camden from Gurdon in 1912. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Ellis is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Wyatt Haltom of Camden; two sons, Cecil Ellis of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Coy Ellis of El Dorado; five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Proctor's Chapel. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. (Camden News - October 5, 1971)
