SPRINGDALE — Don Ivan Messer, 90, of Springdale died April 15, 2006. He was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Pea Ridge to C.B. and Julia McNabb Messer. He was a member of the American Legion Post 100 in Rogers and First United Methodist Church in Springdale. He was a lifetime resident of the area and served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a retired line inspector from Boeing and was a gardener.

Survivors include two daughters, Janice Walters of Flower Mound, Texas, Rita Dawson of Fort Worth, Texas; granddaughter, Megan Suffling; sister, Irene Minor of Rogers.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale. Burial will follow in Per Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service.

SPRINGDALE — Virginia Adaline Messer, 78, of Springdale died Nov. 12, 2002, at Springdale. She was born April 4, 1924, in Dalby Springs, Texas, to Clarence Dalby Sr. and Della Young Dalby. She was a 2nd lieutenant in the Army and was a librarian throughout Europe. She retired from the Dallas Public Library.

Survivors include her husband, Don Messer of the home, whom she married April 5, 1969; two stepdaughters, Janice Walton of Flower Mound, Texas, and Rita Dawson of Halton City, Texas; one brother, Clarence Dalby Jr. of Texas; two sisters, Margaret Fowler of Karney, Neb., and Della Eisenhower of Mansfield, Texas; one grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sisco Chapel in Springdale with the Rev. Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Pea Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
