Edgar 'Red' Messer
Edgar "Red" Messer, 79, of Pea Ridge died Saturday at Rogers Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 28, 1897, in Newport, Tenn.
He was a retired salesman for Watson Goodyear in Rogers, a former Pea Ridge City Councilman and a member of the First Baptist Church in Pea Ridge.
He is survived by his wife, Gaynell Messer of the home; two sons, Dean Messer and Gene Messer, both of Pea Ridge; one daughter, Yvonne Lawson of Pea Ridge; one stepson, John Barber of Tulsa, Okla.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two brothers, Heber Messer of Pea Ridge and Don Messer of Dallas, Tex.; two sisters, Ruth Hall of Pea Ridge and Irene Minor of Rogers.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge with Rev. John Holmes officiating. Burial was in the Pea Ridge Cemetery.
