PUCKETT, Mary Parlee SPRINGER - Mary Parlee (Springer) Puckett was born in Bedford county, Tenn. Feb. 11, 1834, died at Garfield, Arkansas April 4th, 1890 of cancer of the stomach. She came to Pea Ridge, Benton county, Ark. Nov. 19th, 1839. She had been sick five months and a half and during her last days she lived 22 days without food. The deceased was a member of the Christian church and was buried under the service of the F. & L.U., a very large concourse of friends being present at the funeral. The pall-bearers were the committee of the Blues and Grays of the Pea Ridge Reunion, headed by Capt. Pickens and John F. Shepherd. Funeral services conducted by the subscriber at the request of the deceased while on her death bed where she gave every evidence of passing away on the triumphs of a living faith in her redeemer. {J.B.
