LOWELL — Kenneth Lee Carter, 68, of Lowell, died Jan. 20, 2011, in Lowell. He was born Dec. 23, 1942, in Lowell to Martin F. and Bonnie Byars Carter.

He was a foreman for Emerson Electric for many years. He volunteered at the Lowell Museum and was a member of Lowell Bass Club that he helped start.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Carter, whom he married Oct. 18, 1997; two daughters, Sheri Violett and husband, Mike, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Lori Walters and husband, Brian, of Louisville, Ohio; two brothers, Bill Carter and wife, Shirley, and Jim Carter and wife, Carol, all of Lowell; four nieces; and two nephews; and eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at Sisco Funeral Chapel of Springdale, with the Rev. Gary Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Goad Springs Cemetery in Lowell.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are James Carter, Stephen Carter, Brian Walters, Mike Violett, David Beeman and Craig Perdue. Honorary pallbearers are Dale Johnson, Bill Long, Harold Sims, Tommy Oldridge, Bob Burton and Jerry Jost.
