Louise Marie Crafton
Louise Marie Crafton, 91, of Pinewood-Sour Lake, Texas, formerly of Strawberry, died April 29, 2012, at Kountze Nursing Center in Kountze, Texas.
Born April 12, 1921, in Evening Shade, she was the daughter of James C. and Cora Smith. She lived in Poughkeepsie for many years, where she was active in the Eastern Star and the Church of Christ.
She and her husband moved to West Memphis, where she was active in the West Memphis Church of Christ youth programs and women's groups. She and her husband retired to their farm in Strawberry, where she lived until his death and she moved to Texas to be close to her daughters.
She was a dedicated member of the Strawberry Church of Christ and a 50-year member of the Poughkeepsie chapter of the Eastern Star and the Ladies Auxiliary VFW.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Jewel James "Jimmy" Crafton, on Dec. 6, 1988; and two sisters, Hazel Jackson and Martha Lewis.
Survivors include two daughters, Olivia Zinn and husband Jim, and Sharon Hinds and husband Greg, all of Pinewood-Sour Lake, Texas; a grandson, David LaFevers; and a great-grandson.
Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Strawberry Church of Christ with Gary Buxton officiating. Burial was in Ward Cemetery under the direction of Quall's Funeral Home of Cave City.
