Garon L Crafton son of Elva B. and Effie W. (Sneed) Crafton. Charlotte L (Robinson) Merritt daughter of Charles and Lottie Beare Robinson.

Charlotte Crafton, 83, of Batesville, formerly of Cave City, died Monday, March 24, 2008, in Batesville.

Born Feb. 21, 1925, at St. Louis, she was the daughter of Charles and Lottie Beare Robinson. She was a retired executive secretary and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church in Cave City.

Survivors include three sons, Bob Merritt of Webster Groves, Mo., and Steven Merritt and Donald Merritt, both of St. Louis; two stepsons, Danny Crafton of Davenport, Iowa, and David Crafton of Dekalb, Ill.; a stepdaughter, Sheila Crafton of Moline, Ill.; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garon Crafton; and two brothers, Charles Robinson and Fred Tucker.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ward Cemetery in Strawberry with Jeff Holland officiating. Arrangements are by Qualls Funeral Home of Cave City.

No visitation is planned.
