Lester Beck, 92, of Dardanelle and formerly of Bryant's Cove, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Anthony's Regional Medical Center in Morrilton. The son of George and Lucinda Mills Beck, he was born May 8, 1917 in Carden Bottoms. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Selena Raney Beck; 2 sisters, Jewell Hundley and Ila Kinder; 3 brothers, Norbin Beck, Bill Beck and Othar Beck. He is survived by a brother, Gaines Beck, Sikeston, MO; a niece, Doris Hickey, Dardanelle; several other nieces and nephews.

Full military honors will be provided the Rogers-Rye Post #2283 of the Veterans of Foreign War in Russellville.



Selena Raney Beck, age 82, a resident of Casa, AR died Wednesday; May 5, 1999 at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at Russellville, AR. She was born on February 9, 1910 at Casa, AR to W. T. and Edith Minie Raney. She married Lester Beck on July 4, 1943. She was a homemaker and member of the Carden Bottoms Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Vester and Vim T. Raney. Survivors include husband Lester Beck of Casa, AR; a brother, Norborn Raney of Maumelle, AR; a sister, Mandy Pruitt of Pine Bluff, AR; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends and relatives.

Casket bearers were Rickey Robison, Paul Jolly, Brandon Gibby, Steve Raney, True Fitch, A. B Hundley, Billy Ward, Jim Selvey
