Lester Beck, 92, of Dardanelle and formerly of Bryant's Cove, died Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Anthony's Regional Medical Center in Morrilton. The son of George and Lucinda Mills Beck, he was born May 8, 1917 in Carden Bottoms. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
He was a member of the Assembly of God church. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Selena Raney Beck; 2 sisters, Jewell Hundley and Ila Kinder; 3 brothers, Norbin Beck, Bill Beck and Othar Beck. He is survived by a brother, Gaines Beck, Sikeston, MO; a niece, Doris Hickey, Dardanelle; several other nieces and nephews.
Full military honors will be provided the Rogers-Rye Post #2283 of the Veterans of Foreign War in Russellville.
