Funeral services for Fred C. Nelson 56 of Melbourne, Arkansas were held Monday February 28 at the Oxford Methodist Presbyterian Church, Oxford, AR. He died Friday February 25 at his home. Rev. Glenn Bennett and Rev. Wilbert Feagan were the officiating ministers. Casket bearers were Charles and David Washington, Teddy McCurley, Herbert Smith, Jack Grimmett and Junior Majors.
Fred C. Nelson son of Raymond W. and Lydia Lenora Seigel Nelson was born December 22 1926 in Brooklyn. He was married to Darlene Ferne Dappen and were the parents of three children. They lived in the Brooklyn area until 6 1/2 years ago when they moved to Arkansas where he resided at the time of his death. He had been a farmer and an operator of machinery.
Survivors include his wife Darlene; one son Michael of Brooklyn; two daughters Fredricka DeBies, Rotterdam, Holland and Paula Nelson of St. Louis, MO; Two grandchildren. He is also survived by his mother Lydia Nelson, Brooklyn and brother Raymond, Fort Pierce, FL; and three sisters Lanora Weaver, Cincinnati, Ohio; Greta Van Zee Knoxville, IA and Anna Krozner, Ferlong, PA.
