MELBOURNE — Melissa Renee Nelson, 16, of Melbourne died Wednesday, April 20, 2011, in Melbourne, the result of a one vehicle accident.
Born Oct. 13, 1994, in Calico Rock, she was the daughter of Loren Dale Nelson II and Laura Jean Hinkle. She was a member of the 10th grade class at Melbourne High School. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne.
Survivors include her father of Melbourne; her mother of Melbourne; two brothers, Robert Nelson and Landon Nelson, both of Melbourne; a sister, Chryssie Nelson of Conway; three stepbrothers, Bryson Hawkins, Brason Hawkins and Micah Phillips, all of Melbourne; a stepsister, Gabriella Hawkins of Melbourne; and her grandparents, Loren Dale and Sandra Nelson of Melbourne and Eileen Hinkle of Wideman.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather; and an uncle, Jason Nelson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Belview Baptist Church in Melbourne with Josh Lobdell officiating. Burial will be in Caney Springs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Melbourne.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight.
Pallbearers will be Jim Carroll, Tim Massey, Bo Elrod, Phillip Johnson, Robert Hinkle and Sam Blankenship.
