Floral--Gerald W. Barber, 73, of Floral died Monday, February 15, 2010, at his home.
Born March 24, 1936, on Jamestown Mountain, he was the son of Elvin and Ethel Barber. He was a resident of the Floral area for 73 years and was of the Church of Christ faith. He was a member of the Coon Club and Saddle Club.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Adaline "Toni" Barber, two sons, Jeff Barber and Robert Barber, two daughters, Joyce Johnson and Patty Halcom; four brothers, Reggie Barber, Charles Barber, Billy Barber and Lannie Barber, four sisters, Lois Jane Weakley, Vida May Via, Donna Faye Ramsey and Sherry Fowler; 10 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Tom Barber, Boyce Barber, Terrell Barber; a sister, Betty Knatacal; and a grandson, Jessie Johnson.
The funeral will be at 10 am Thursday at Willis Funeral Service Chapel with Leonord Westbrook officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery in Floral.
Pallbearers will be B. L. Barber, John Fia Jr., Nathan Ramsey, Brandon Barber, Brian Barber, Joey Barber, Josh Barber, Britton Barber and Jared Barber.
Honorary pallbearers are Clayton Johnson, Farel Anderson, Doyne Finney, Denver Lamons, Hairl Anderson, and John Grady.
