Aubrey Linn "Slim" Lane, 64, of Enola, Arkansas, died Wednesday, December 9, 2009, at Conway Regional Health Systems. He was born January 5, 1945, in Conway, a son of the late Aubrey Archibald "Red" & Christine Mamie Keathley Lane. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Jane Smith & a brother, George Eldon Lane. Slim was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War & was Baptist. One of his favorite hobbies was finding & collecting vintage bottles of all types: medicine, soda, etc. He also loved fishing, & loved to float the Cadron—especially at night. Survivors are his son, Michael Lane of Little Rock; daughters, Crystal Steed of Redkey, Indiana; Valorie Steed of Conway; his brother, Forrest Eugene Lane of Gravette; grandchildren, Christopher, Dusty, Joshua, Brandi, Johnathan, Nicky & Stephanie Steed; his great-grandson, Zeath Steed & a number of nephews & nieces. Slim is also survived by his second family, his co-workers at Granite Mountain Quarry, where he was a welder. Burial was at Beryl Cemetery.
