FOSTER, Alexander Joshua - Funeral services for Alexander Joshua Foster, aged 60 years, four months and 25 days, of near Cave Springs, this county, whose death occurred at 5:15 o'clock Friday afternoon, January 20th, 1933 following an attack of pneumonia, were held Sunday afternoon in charge of the Kerr-Callison Funeral Home of Bentonville at the Holiness Mission Church at Cave Springs conducted by the Rev. Millard Brown of Cave Springs and the Rev. Floyd Durham of Stella, Mo. with interment in the Cave Springs cemetery. Mr. Foster was born at Drakes Creek, Madison County, Arkansas and lived most of his life in that community and section. He came to Benton County a few years ago and had resided one mile east of Cave Springs for the past four years, operating his farm as a poultry ranch. Among near relatives surviving Mr. Foster in addition to his wife, Mrs. Nora Foster, are two daughters, Mrs. Carl A. Mertz of Del Rio, Texas and Mrs. C.L. Roberts of Whittier, California; three adopted stepsons, Archie Bristow of Missoula, Mont., Dennis Bristow of Fort Sill, Okla. and Byron Bristow of Cave Springs; also a brother, Tom Foster of Berryville, Ark. and a sister, Mrs. J.M. Smith of Marble, Ark. Mrs. Mertz was among the relatives coming here from a distance on account of the illness and death of her father.

Alex J. Foster, living one mile east of Cave Springs, died at his home Friday, January 20, 1933 at the age of 60 years. Funeral services were held at the Holiness Mission Sunday afternoon, the Rev. Miller Brown officiating. Burial was made in Cave Springs cemetery. Mr. Foster was born in Madison county, Ark. Aug. 25, 1872 and was married the 2nd time to Nora Bristow. The family moved to Cave Springs in 1928. Mr. Foster's death was due to pneumonia following two weeks illness with the flu. Besides his widow he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Carl Mertz of Del Rio, Texas and Mrs. C.L. Roberts of Whittier, Calif. and by three step-sons, Archie Bristow of Missoula, Mont., Dennis Bristow of Ft. Sill, Okla. and Byrum Bristow of Cave Springs, a brother, Tom Foster of Berryville and a sister, Mrs. J.M. Smith of Marble, Ark.
