Howard Hall Dies at V. A. Hospital

Howard Ray Hall of Oxford son of the late Burl E. and Eler Hall was born August 22, 1908 at Ardmore, Okla., and died at the Veterans Hospital in Little Rock on August 10, 1956 after a long illness. He was 47 years, 11 months and 21 days of age.

He was united in marriage to Vertie Davis May 12, 1929. To this union five children were born. He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Melba Bryant of Quincy, Wash., Dottie and Sharon of the home; two sons, Paul Dean and Vickie Ray also of the home; one grandchild; two brothers, Woodrow of Melbourne and Billy Gene of Salem; five sisters, Magaleen Kerr, Ruth Hall, Modema Wren, B. E. Morgan and Nova Hill; besides a host of other relatives and friends.

He was a member of the Church of Christ. He served in the U. S. Army from 1943 to 1945 and was also a member of the Hayes Masonic Lodge at Union.

Funeral services were held Monday, August 13 at 2 p.m. at the Church of Christ at Oxford with Rev. Jack Hobby of Calico Rock and Rev. Remmel Rowden of Oxford officiating. Burial was made in Oxford Cemetery under the direction of the Hall Funeral Home.
