Roger Dale Pamplin, 54, of Hamburg died Saturday, April 1, 2006, at his residence. A lifelong resident of Ashley County, he was a former truck driver and member of Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Valerie Adams Pamplin; one son, William James Pamplin and wife Melissa of White Hall; two daughters, Monica Lynne Watkins and husband William Kyle of Livingston, LA, and Lisa Ann Day and husband Tom of Warrington, VA; four brothers, Houston Wayne and James Harvey Pamplin, both of Hamburg, Robert Edward Pamplin of Fountain Hill and William Henry Pamplin of Crossett; three sisters, Mary Ellen Walters and husband Sammy of Hamburg, Betty Sue Ward and husband Butch of Hope and Earline Tabor and husband Jimmy of Labadieville, LA; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Roger Dean Pamplin; his parents, Houston Frank and Louise Gregory Pamplin; and one brother, John Pamplin.

Funeral services were scheduled for Tuesday, April 4, at 2 p.m. at Rolfe Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Carlton White officiating. Burial was to follow at Carlock Cemetery under the direction of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg. Pallbearers were to be Ronald Barnett, William Pamplin, Wayne Pamplin, Johnny Frank Pamplin, Michael Richardson and J. R. Bergeron.
