BARBEE, Tabitha J. - Mrs. Tabitha Barbee of Hiwasse died at her home Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the age of 81 years. She leaves surviving one son, Will Barbee of Hiwasse; three daughters: Mrs. Kate Oakley of Ojai, Cal.; Mrs. Martha Amick of Dalhart, Texas and Mrs. Bell Roughton of Hiwasse. Funeral services will be held at the church in Hiwasse Friday at 2 o'clock p.m. and burial will be made in the Gamble cemetery at 4 o'clock.

Mrs. Tabitha J. Barbee, aged 81 years, died at her home in Hiwasse Thursday, May 17. She was the widow of the late M.W. Barbee who died several years ago. Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Hiwasse Friday, the Rev. T.J. Justice, pastor of the Methodist church in Gravette, officiating. The funeral was largely attended and the floral offerings beautiful. Mrs. Barbee was born in Warren county, Tenn. May 16, 1847 where she spent her girlhood days. She joined the M.E. church at the age of 16 and remained a faithful member the rest of her life. She was married to M.W. Barbee in 1870. To them were born eight children, four of whom survive. They are: Mrs. Belle Roughton, Hiwasse; Mrs. Martha Amick, Dalhart, Texas; Mrs. Kate Oakley, Ojai, Calif. and Will Barbee, Hiwasse. All the children were with her when she passed away excepting Mrs. Oakley.
