(from High Top) Stephen Lafayette Clement died at his home Wednesday the 15th. He had suffered from asthma for a number of years and that with bronchial pneumonia caused his death. He was buried in the Centerton cemetery Thursday afternoon, the funeral service conducted by Elders J.A. Fair and Leroy of the M.E. church there. Mr. and Mrs. Clements had lived on the old home place for about 45 years. Mr. Clement was born in Murray county, Georgia Feb. 16, 1848, moved to White county about 1871 and in 1876, Sept. 24th, was married to Mrs. Martha Jane Holland and moved to Benton county the same year. His son, Alva Clement, preceded him in death Feb. 11, 1908. He leaves his wife, a step-son, W. A. Holland and Mrs. Ella Smith of Centerton, Mrs. Dollie Burgo of Los Angeles and Mrs. Dove Marsh of St. Louis. Mr. Clement professed faith in Christ about the year 1874 and united with the Missionary Baptist church in his home town in White county. Mrs. Dove Marsh arrived Thursday night after the funeral.

Mrs. G. L. Clement of Centerton died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ella Smith, on February 2 at the age of 73 years.
