Ulyss B. Evans, 75, of Batesville died Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, in a Batesville hospital.
Born Jan. 21, 1931, at Grubbs, he was the son of Bee and Lucille Lassiter Evans. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from May 1951 to May 1953. He was retired from General Motors in St. Louis and was a member of the Local 25 United Auto Workers Union.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Geneva Neal Evans; a daughter, Jacqueline Cochrane of Tampa, Fla.; a stepson, Dennis Hamon of St. Louis; two sisters, Ellen Mullen and Barbara Hatfield, both of St. Louis; two grandchildren, Michelle Becker of St. Louis and Michael Hamon of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; and several nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents; a brother, Carl D. Evans; and a sister, Sylba Hendrickson.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Qualls Batesville Funeral Service Chapel with Stefan Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery in Batesville.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Neal, Steven Neal, Johnny Neal Jr., Jamie Neal, Bobby Adams and Roy Adams Jr.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday.
