KIRKPATRICK, Finis - {from The Siloam Springs Republican} An accident which brought untold sadness to the family of Henry Kirkpatrick, whose home is three miles west of this city in the Territory, was the accidental discharge of a shotgun this morning, in which a part of the head of their 10 year old son, Finis, was blown off. Mr. Kirkpatrick was preparing to go in quest of squirrel and while he was getting the horses in readiness sent the son to the house for the gun. When he reached the barn he set the gun down and climbed upon a ladder which was standing near. The gun was discharged as above stated, but as the boy did not live to make any statement, the cause of the unfortunate discharge will never be known. His head must have been close to the gun barrel as his face was considerably powder burnt.
