Dorothy Mae Russell, 89 of Walnut Ridge; died June 11, 2021; in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Home.
Born September 16, 1931, in O’kean; daughter of the late, Thomas Wesley and Jewell Stone Roberts.
She was united in marriage to James Harlen Russell on April 23, 1949. She was a homemaker and a member of the 1st Assembly of God in Walnut Ridge. Dorothy enjoyed cooking, sewing, playing checkers and puzzles; but most of all she loved spending time with her family and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Harlen; a granddaughter, Erica Lea Fultner; two son-n-laws, Ernie Fultner and Kenneth Menees; four siblings, J.D. Roberts, Erma Rider, Thelma Mashburn Hibbard, and Harold Roberts.
Survivors include her eight children, Brenda (Michael) Wackett of Ocala, FL, James R Russell of Black Rock, Charles Russell of Pocahontas, Glenda Menees of Bonne Terre, MO, Donna Fultner of Hoxie, Janice (Justin Cunningham) Bristol of Park Hills, MO, Vaughn (Michelle) Russell of Hoxie, and Teresa (Jim) West of Jacksonville, FL; fourteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas Roberts of Jonesboro and Jesse (Linda) Roberts of Walnut Ridge; three sisters, Linda (Charles) Milgrim of Black Rock, Norma Tillman and Judy (Jim) Bridges all of Walnut Ridge; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Tuesday, June 15, 2021, at 2 P.M. in the Bryan Chapel with Bro. Dale Hughart and Bro. Roger Brand officiating.
Pallbearers will be Marion McDaniel, John Mashburn, Roger Brand, Tim Hudson, Tommy Milgrim, and Justin Cunningham.
Interment will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery near Lynn.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6 P.M. till 8 P.M.
