Charles Bryan Britt, 74, Rt 6., died Sunday at the Oakridge Nursing Hone following a lengthy illness. He was the son of Rufus and Emma Britt. He was a former sales representative of the News Times Publishing Co. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Bessie Britt of El Dorado; three sons, Raymond M. Britt, Calmath Falls, Ore., Bryce M. Britt, El Dorado and Charles B. Britt, Jr., Carrollton, Tex.; a daughter, Miss Ruth Britt, El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Clay, El Dorado and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Smyrna Baptist Church with the Elder David Turner of Bastrop officiating. Burial will be in Smyrna Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home. Active pallbearers will be Fred Murphy, Travis Davis, Lawrence Nash, Hartsell Nash, Doyle Murphy, and Tom Loftin. The family has requested that memorials be made to the Smyrna Church in care of Mrs. Melba Sullivan, Rt. 2 Box 208, El Dorado. (El Dorado Times - August 23, 1971)
