National Commander of the Arkansas State Chapter of the Veterans of American Indian Wars

Born in Forsyth County, GA., Died in Amity, AR. Married Louise Jane Dillard, Oct. 10, 1879, Point Cedar, AR. Louise (Louisa) Dillard-Fitzgerald, b. April 16, 1864, Hot Spring County, AR; d. June 4, 1954 at the home of her daughter Mary "Mollie" Fitzgerald-Martin, Amity, Clark County, AR. Rev. Fitzgerald was a minister of the Amity Methodist Episcopal Church and a circuit riding preacher for the American Sunday School Union in Southwest Arkansas. He was a veteran of the American Indian Wars, serving in the 6th Cavalry, US Army from 1872-1878.
