McCLAIN, George - George, the 3-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. L.D. McClain, died on Monday evening of diphtheria at the home west of town. Mrs. McClain was in a serious condition for a time owing to her grief over the child's death. He had been ill for some ten days but was thought to be improving when he suddenly took a change for the worse.

(from Oakley Chapel} Little George McClain, who had diphtheria, passed away Monday evening at about five o'clock and was laid to rest Tuesday afternoon about two o'clock in the Rogers cemetery. The parents have the deepest sympathy of the community.
