Marion Richard McClain was born October 5,1944, in Paroquet, AR outside of Newark to J.R. and Margaret McClain. He departed from this life on March 23, 2020 after a battle with cancer.
Richard grew up on his family's farm and graduated from Newark High School. He went on to pursue his studies at ASU Jonesboro and then on to UAMS in Little Rock where he obtained his degree in Pharmacy. Richard worked as a Pharmacist in numerous cities in AR throughout his career. For the past twenty years, he lived in Rogers, AR and worked at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville. He loved the profession, his coworkers, his patients and was able to work until this year.
Richard was of the Baptist faith and raised his family to know the Lord. In 1966, he married the love of his life, Sarah Evelyn Jimerson McClain, who survives him. He is also survived by his sons Todd (Stephanie) McClain of Rogers, AR and Dr. Shad (Jessica) McClain of Calico Rock, AR. He was known as 'Papaw', 'Paps' and 'Pepaw' to these grandchildren: Brittany (Dan) McClain Beahm, Caleb McClain, Courtney McClain Allison, Isaac McClain, Kegan (Holly) Burns and several great grandchildren. In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by brothers, Larry McClain, Jerry McClain and Ronnie McClain. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Janice McClain Goodman.
The family will have a private burial service and there will be no visitation. Arrangements by Benton County Funeral Home 306 N. 4th St. Rogers, Arkansas.
