Dau of R. H. & Katie Hudson
The Baxter Bulletin
May 2, 1902
Miss Leone Hudson, daughter of Sheriff R.H. Hudson, died last Sunday morning. Quick consumption was the fatal disease. The remains were interred in the family burial ground near Lone Rock, Monday afternoon. Rev Lee Bearden administered the rites of baptism to Miss Hudson after which, our informant states, she requested her mother to remove a pillow from under her head, told her not to be alarmed, that she wanted to go to sleep. She folded her hands across her breast, closed her eyes, a smile overspread her face and without a struggle or the twitching of a muscle fell asleep; "Asleep in Jesus." Even in death the features were beautiful and the smile natural.
