JANUARY, Hiram - Uncle Hiram January, who has resided near Bloomfield for a half century and who has held the office of Justice of the Peace of that township for about thirty years, died at his home Monday. He was 83 years of age and had been failing in health for some time. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.R. Maxwell Tuesday afternoon and the remains were laid to rest in the Bloomfield cemetery.

Mrs. Sallie Williams January was born in South Carolina April 1st, 1820, moved to Tennessee when 6 years old, joined the Methodist church at about 12 years of age. She came to Arkansas in 1852. Aug. 19th, 1838 was married to Hiram January. Three children resulted from this union - Isaac Newton, Margaret and Cynthia. The two former are yet living, the latter died 25 years ago. Her husband departed this life Jan. 4th, 1904. Sister January died Sept. 26th at 5 o'clock p.m.
