Obit provided by Freda:
KENNAN, Mary A. – Mrs. Mary A. Kennan, 51 years of age, died in this city Saturday morning. She had been sick since the first of last December with carcinoma of the bowels but she bore her affliction with patient fortitude and the resignation of the true christian who sees just beyond a brighter and better home where disease and suffering cometh not. Mrs. Kennan was born in Georgia and for many years had been a faithful and consistent member of the Baptist church. She leaves a husband and five children to mourn her loss, to whom The News offers condolence in their hour of grief. Funeral services were conducted at the residence at half past eleven Sunday morning by Eld. J.H. Amacker and the remains were laid to rest in the Bluff Cemetery Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
