Springdale Aug. 21 - Funeral services for John William Kennan, 68, who died Tuesday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church at Sonora conducted by elder Floyd Tillran. Burial was at the Sonora cemetery under direction of the Callison-Riggs Funeral home. Mr. Kennan was born at Sonora and for many years was shoe salesman in Springdale. He recently suffered a stroke of apoplexy and and remained in the hospital for four days before he died. He is survived by one one, Sheldon Kennan of Huntington Park, Calif., three sisters, Mrs. Margie Clarksville and Mrs. Willie Head, Springdale and Mrs. Ellen Vanzant of Sonora, and three grandchildren.
