May 21, 1928 - March 16, 1969
James Preston Rowe, 40 of Camden, Rt. 1, died suddenly Sunday morning in a local hospital. He was owner and operator of 79 Truck Stop South Stephens Hwy, and had been a resident of Ouachita County for twenty five years. He was a member of the Stephens Methodist Church. Mr. Rowe is survived by his wife, Mrs. Christine Stone Rowe, two sons, Gregg and Don Rowe of Mt. Holly; four step-daughters, Mrs. Mary Freeman, Mrs. Alene Agee, Mrs. Paula Shelton and Miss Audrey Jones all of Camden; one brother, L. J. Rowe of Perry, Oklahoma, four sisters, Mrs. John Dale of Stephens, Mrs. Bennie Nalley of Camden, Mrs. Robert Cathey of Irving, Texas and Mrs. Dale Brashey of McNeil; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Rowe of Stephens and four step-grandchildren. The body will remain at proctor Funeral Home until 8 a.m. Tuesday when it will be taken to the First Methodist Church of Stephens where services will be held at 10 a.m. with Young's of El Dorado in charge. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. (Camden News - March 17, 1969)
