John "Chick" Belew, 72, of Gravette, died Friday, Nov. 6 at his home. He was born Feb. 8, 1920, at Hiwasse, to John Alexander Belew and Carrie Lillian Banks Belew. He was a farmer, had served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and had attended Linwood Church of Christ.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Ann Morrison Belew of the home; a daughter, Lillian Grace Barnett of Rogers; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held Monday, Nov. 9 at 10 a.m. at Daniel Cemetery near Hiwasse with services under direction of Callison-Lough Funeral Home, Gravette.
