Husband of Mary Johnson. Woodrow the son of William and Anna (Pruitt) Johnson. Woodrow also served in the US Army & Air Corps during World War II.


Woodrow Johnson, 89, of Strawberry, died March 24, 2010, at a Batesville hospital.

Born July 17, 1920, in Sardis, Miss., he was the son of William and Anna Pruitt Johnson, and was a World War II Army veteran.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Ronnie Johnson, Tommy Johnson and Christopher Johnson; three brothers, Wade Johnson, Clyde Johnson and Leroy Johnson; and a sister, Buelah Bradley.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Mary Johnson; six sons, Woody Johnson Jr., Mississippi, Ricky Johnson, Mammoth Spring, Mike Johnson, Evening Shade, Mike Justus, Bethesda, Steve Rimmer, Howe, Okla., and Johnny Johnson, Oil Trough; five daughters, Jan Hughes, Alabama, Judy Steinbeck, Florida, Donna Radtke, Texas, Lynn Miller, California, and Mary Cook, Saffell; a sister, Willie Jackson, Batesville, Miss.; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Qualls Funeral Home in Cave City. Burial was in Ward Cemetery at Strawberry.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
