Freeda Virginia Johnson, 87, of Pocahontas, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the Randolph Home Nursing Center in Pocahontas. Freeda was born on February 4, 1928 in Eaton, Arkansas to Joseph Paul and Bessie (Randolph) Chappell.
Freeda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eugene Johnson; brothers, Gayle Chappell, Jamie Chappell, and Larry Chappell; sister, Wilene Poteet.
Survivors include brother, Eugene Chappell of Eureka Springs; sisters, Yvonne (Bill) Fielden of St. Charles, MO, and Retta Jean Sellers of Overland, MO; nephew, Joe (Linda) Chappell of Imboden; nieces, Sharrie (Randy) Weisenbach of Maynard, Shelly (Curtis) Liscomb of Imboden, Jimene (Bob) Springer of Columbia, IL, Lisa (Kevin) Daniels of Connecticut, and Pam (Brian) Leonard of Arizona; brother-in-law, Everett Poteet of Imboden; sister-in-laws, Charlscie Chappell of Pocahontas, Juanita Thornhill of Bourbon, MO, and Dorothy Mae Springer of Sullivan, MO; many more great nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation and funeral service will be held at the Imboden Church of Christ on Wednesday, March 11. Visitation will be from 10-11 am; funeral service will immediately follow visitation and will begin at 11 am; Frank Foust, officiating. Burial will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery.
Honored to serve as pallbearers: LaDonna Mendleski, Rocky Chappell, Slade Weisenbach, Jace Weisenbach, Kainen Rogers, and Maigen Rogers.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Fears Family Funeral Home in Pocahontas.
