Eva Meredia Simpson, 87 of Portia, passed away February 1, 2019 in the Lawrence Hall Nursing Center.
Born November 5, 1931 in Powhatan; daughter of George and Mary Mashburn Russell. She was a graduate of the Clover Bend School. Meredia was united in marriage to Leonard Simpson on September 5, 1950. She was a retired seamstress from the Dress Factory and Douglas. She was a loving wife and mother; and had a great love for her grand kids.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard in 1989; three sisters and two brothers.
Survivors include three sons, Danny (Kimberly) Simpson of Walcott, Jimmy (Kelly) Simpson of Smithville, and Willis Simpson of New Hope, AL; a daughter, Debbie (Jimmy) Passmore of Hoxie; two granddaughters; two grandsons; two step-grandsons; several great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services will be Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 3 P.M. in the Lawrence Memorial Park with Bro. Roger Brand officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
