CENTERTON — Ray E. Hickman, 90, of Centerton died Nov. 24, 2006, in Fayetteville. He was born Oct. 26, 1916, in Erbie to William and Melvina Henderson
Hickman.

He was a retired barber and farmer for 45 years; a 32nd degree Mason and member of Bentonville Lodge 56, and an Army veteran of World War II. He served in Italy with the 91st Infantry Division, 361st Regiment, where he earned numerous decorations including the Silver Star for gallantry in action, two Purple Hearts, Combat Infantryman's Badge, and the Legion of Merit. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Hester B. Hickman; one son, Eddie W. Hickman and wife Debra; one daughter, Nola Hickman Lewis; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home in Bentonville with Gary Blackburn officiating.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Bentonville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.

CENTERTON — Hester B. Hickman, 88, of Centerton, Ark., passed away Dec. 13, 2010, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale, Ark.

Mrs. Hickman was a resident of Bentonville for most of her life, and was known by many for the beautiful quilts she made and displayed at the Bentonville Square.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ray E. Hickman; and her son-in-law, Robert W. Lewis.

She is survived by her on and daughter-in-law, Eddie W. Hickman and Debra; her daughter, Nola R. Lewis; her grandson, Bradley S. Lewis and wife, Ellen, and their three children; granddaughter, Elizabeth B. Manning and husband, Brian, and their two children; many extended family members, and her dog, Pepper.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Dec. 16, 2010, at Stockdale Funeral Chapel.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 17, also at Stockdale Funeral Chapel.

Burial will be at Bentonville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to Circle of Life Hospice, 901 Jones Road, Springdale, AR 72762.
