Son of Grover Cleveland Fancher & Tilda Edna Burks; born December 31, 1920, near Weathers, Madison Co. AR; died March 26, 2000, Huntsville, Madison Co. AR

He was a Navy veteran of World War II; served aboard the USS Rockport at Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrender took place on the battleship Missouri.He helped build the American Legion Hall in Kingston, served as its first post commander and later was elected county legion commander.In 1950, he and his father started an auction barn near Kingston and later moved to a larger auction at Eureka Springs and then to Green Forest.
