Huntsville -- Katherine Lenora "Kate" Fancher, 77, of this city, died Aug. 2 in the hospital here. She was born Dec. 20, 1886 in Carroll County, the daughter of James and Mattie Polk, and was a retired teacher, having taught school in this county for many years.

Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Addie Pharris of Route 5, Huntsville, and Mrs. Buena Stephenson of Pryor, Okla.

Funeral services were held in the Kingston Community Church Monday. Burial was in the Kingston Cemetery under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home.

NOTE: Parents were James Polk Fancher and Martha Matilda Wilkins Fancher.
