Sarah Ann Barnard was born Dec. 19th, 1852, in Adams County, near Liberty, Ill. She was reared in Adams County, and was married to J.H. Robb on Feb. 14th, 1875, at Liberty, Ill. To this union were born nine children. One, a girl, died in infancy and a son, Charles, at the age of 52.

The living children are: Mrs. Lillie McIntire, Clarence Mo.; B.M. Robb, Decatur, Ark.; John Robb, Centralia, Texas; Arthur Robb, Houston, Texas; Mrs. Lorena Seward, Elma Washington; Mrs. Minnie Goodwin, Oklahoma City; Mrs. Stella Todd, Hiwasse, Ark. She also leaves 32 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Her husband died at Ft. Lawson, Okla. in 1823.

She came with her family to Arkansas in 1901 and has lived here ever since except a short time spent in Oklahoma.

She departed this life Feb. 25th, 1936 at the age of 83 years, two months and six days, at the home of her son, Ben, with whom she had made her home for the past three and a half years.

She gave her life to the Lord in her young days and served Him faithfully to the end. She was a faithful wife and mother, and will be missed by all her loved ones and neighbors. Her funeral was conducted in the home by the Rev. Fred Fleer, assisted by Sister Ray Kimbrough. Girls from the Gravette Bible School had charge of the songs and sang her favorite song, “Amazing Grace.” Interment was made in the Decatur cemetery.
