NAIL, Thomas Andrew - A military funeral will be given the body of Thomas Andrew Nail Sunday afternoon, September 11th, at the home of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Nail, one and one-half miles southeast of Lowell. Burial will be at Goad Spring cemetery west of Lowell. The services at the house will begin at 2:30 and will be under the auspices of the Wm. J. Batjer Post, No. 100, American Legion, of Rogers. The body arrived in Rogers Saturday morning and has been in the parlors at A.D. Callison's. Thomas Andrew Nail was born near Lowell May 3, 1892 where he lived until he entered the army. He was educated in the Lowell public school. He left for Camp Pike Sept. 18, 1917 and was transferred to Camp Beauregard, La. November 12, 1917. In May 1918 he went east with his company to Camp Merritt and sailed for France from Hoboken June 4th. Arriving in France he was assigned to Co. B, 38th Inf., Third Division and hurried to the front where some of the bloodiest battles of the war were being fought in the Chateau Thierry section. July 14th he was seriously wounded and was taken to Red Cross Hospital No. 1 in Paris where he died August 12th
at the age of 26 years, three months and nine days. His body was placed in the beautiful American cemetery at Sursenes, a suburb of Paris, on the slope of a great hill that overlooks the entire city. The deceased is survived by his parents, John Nail and wife, one sister, Anna, and two brothers, Ed and Burl, and a number of uncles and aunts and other relatives.

NAIL, Andrew - {from Lowell} John Nail received word Monday that his son, Andrew Nail, who was in France, Died on the 12th of the month from a wound. Mr. and Mrs. Nail had been unable to hear from their son since he landed in France and they have so patiently awaited a letter from him. We extend out heartfelt sympathy to the bereaved family.

NAIL, John T. - John T. Nail, aged 64 years, died suddenly in his car near Springdale late Tuesday afternoon, May 17th, of heart failure, it is stated. Mr. Nail, in company with his son, Burl, were showing some farms to a couple of prospective buyers at the time of his death. Funeral services were held at the home Thursday afternoon with burial at Goad Springs cemetery. Mr Nail was born near Lowell Feb. 28, 1868 and was the son of an old family of early settlers. In 1891 he married Miss Flora Pardue. With the exception of a short time practically his whole life had been spent at Lowell. Mr. Nail and family moved to Springdale a few years ago. Besides his widow he is survived by two sons, Burl and Edward Nail of the home, and Mrs. Emma Lewis of Lowell, a daughter. Six brothers, Hunter, Joe, Oscar, Alex, William and Claude, all of the Lowell community, survive him. His oldest son, Andrew, named after his grandfather, was killed in action in France during the World War.
