David Walter Barnes, 71, of Gassville died at home Thursday, July 25. He was a retired engineer of the milk producers.
Born on Jan 10, 1903, at Memphis, TN, he was the son of Calvin Barnes and Margaret Burros Banes. He was married to Hattie Cunningham on Jan 21, 1920 at Burkburnett, TX.
Mr. Barnes was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Kansas City, KS.
Surviving are his wife at home; one son, Doyce Barnes of Diamond City; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Services were held Monday at 2PM at Galatia with Rev. Jack Langston officiating. Interment was in the Galatia Cemetery under the direction of the Roller Funeral Home of Mt. Home.
Pallbearers were Boyd Skiver, F.L. Harvey, Bob Fuller, Roe Whitfield, Ben Teagardner and Ralph Parnell.
