Virgle Mae "Vicky" Barnes was killed in an automobile accident in Springdale, Washington County, Arkansas.

Services for Virgle 'Vicky' Barnes of Mt. Home will be a 2PM Friday at Old Galatia Church with the Rev. Verne Pickrell officiating. Mrs. Barnes died Tuesday (May 7, 1996) at Northwest Medical Center in Springdale. she was 62.
Visitaion will be 9AM-9PM today at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8PM. Burial will be at Galatia Cemetery with Chris Oliver, Mike Baker, Terry Clark, Robert Lawson, Dean Martin and Chad Papineau serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Figurski, L.J. Lawson, Joe Harris, Hank Tilley, Kevin Cagg and Alan Harris.
Mrs. Barnes was born May 8, 1933, at Old Joe to Alfred and Gracie Acklin Lawson. She and Coy Barnes were married Feb 24, 1995, at Mt. Home. She was a former resident of St. Joseph, MO, having lived there 33 years before moving to Mt. Home in 1982.
She was an assembly line worker at a shirt manufactureing company. Mrs. Barnes was a member of Arkana Baptist Church. She sang with the Ozark Jammers Country Music Group all over north centeral Arkanasas. Not only did she love music, she also enjoyed crafts, sewing, flowers, gardening, birds and collectiong strawberries.
She is survived by her husbad at home; a son, Joe Harris of Mt. Home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Larry Estes of Mt. Home and Carol and Mike Baker of Savannah, MO; three brothers, Troy Lawson, Kenneth Lawson and Lonnie Lawson, all of Mt. Home; four sisters, Juanita Bish of Salesville, Nina Haverson of Gresham, OR, Anna Mae Brett of Calico Rock and Nona Figurski of Mt. Home; 11 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Richard Coyle; a daughter Coletta Harris; and two brothers.
Memoraial may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by Roller Funeral Home.
