James Edward Loosey of Calico Rock, Arkansas, son of the late Arthur and Nola Cooper Loosey was born November 3, 1929, in Izard County, Arkansas. He died December 8, 1993, in the Calico Rock Medical Center at the age of 64 years.
James was married to Elwanda Gray, December 14, 1953, and to this union eight children were born. He worked in construction as a flood controller on the locks and dams.
James is survived by his wife, Elwanda of the home; four daughters, Betty Copes and Cynthia Malone both of Ellsinore, Missouri, Darlene Van Drimmellen of Calico Rock and Janda Powell of ____
City, Illinois; three sons, James Robert Loosey and Jackie Lossey both of Calico Rock and Noel Loosey of Oregon; two sisters, Leola Young of Norfork, Arkansas, and Ardieth Dickerson of Jordon, Arkansas; two brothers, Junior Loosey and Clyde Loosey both of Calico Rock; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, three grandchildren, two brothers, Billy Lucy and Finis Loosey.
Services were December 12, 1993, at Galatia Church with Pastor Donnie Speak officiating.
Pallbearers were Randy Loosey, Harvey Loosey, Loyde Loosey, Billy Bowman, Noel James Loosey, and Bruce Nozar.
Interment was at the Galatia Cemetery in Old Joe, Arkansas, under the direction of Howard Funeral Home in Calico Rock, Arkansas.
