Peter Garner was born to John and Elizabeth Garner about 1810 in Moore County, North Carolina. He married Susan Jackson. The family moved west to McNairy County, Tennessee, thence to Taney County, Missouri, and finally to Clark County. He died on 5 February 1888. Grass with runners sometimes covers his flat, homemade stone during the growing season. The stone is nine feet, six inches directly west of the larger stone of his son Jesse Garner.
